Biography
| Hilary MCCallion – Director of Nursing & Education, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
Hilary McCallion was appointed as Director of Nursing and Education of the South London & Maudsley NHS Trust in May 1999. She is the lead Director for Child Protection and Infection Control. Before joining the South London & Maudsley NHS Trust, she was Director of Nursing and Service Development at Lewisham and Guys NHS Trust. She completed her general nurse training at Northwick Park Hospital and qualified as a registered mental nurse in Hertfordshire. Hilary has held a number of senior practice, managerial, educational and professional development posts. Her research interests have focussed upon leadership development for nurses. She has lead the ward managers leadership development programme for the ICMHG (South) since 1999. She was made visiting Professor to London South Bank University in April 2003. She is Chair of the MH&LDND&L forum, member of NIMHE NADG and recently became Chair of the London Standing Committee for Mental Health. |
